Starting in December, Quartier Libre, one of France’s largest tour operators, and the airline Transavia France will offer direct service between Luleå and Paris. The route is a combination of charter service for arriving tourists and scheduled service, with flights operating for 14 weeks during the winter season.

For the first time, travellers from France will be able to choose Luleå as a charter destination, with direct service to Paris once a week during the winter season. A large share of seats will be for charter operations and sold through one of France’s largest tour operators, Quartier Libre, but tickets in scheduled service will be sold for the remaining capacity through Transavia France. That means residents and businesses in the Luleå region will be able to use scheduled service to fly to France. Direct service is important not just for arriving travellers and to the local tourism industry but also to Swedes who want to visit France and Paris in the winter.

Starting in December 2022, Transavia France will serve the Luleå Airport (LLA) – Paris Orly Airport (ORY) route once a week, on Fridays. Paris-Orly Airport is located south of Paris, less than 20 km from central Paris. For more information about current traffic at Luleå Airport: swedavia.com/lulea.

Swedavia’s work to achieve net zero
Swedavia has carried out ambitious sustainability work for many years. All ten of its airports achieved the goal of zero fossil carbon dioxide emissions from their own operations by year-end 2020. Swedavia also works actively to promote the switch to sustainable aviation fuel and has the goal that five per cent of all fuel used for refuelling at Swedish airports shall be fossil-free by 2025. Swedavia’s climate transition work and pioneering work to operate climate-smart airports have won international awards, and in 2021 the trade organisation Airports Council International (ACI) named Stockholm Arlanda Airport Eco-Innovation Airport of the Year. Swedavia offers all travellers flying from one of its airports the option of buying biofuel for their entire journey or parts of it via flygreenfund.se/swedavia.

Swedavia complies with the authorities’ advice and recommendations on Covid-19. In addition, we comply with international aviation industry regulations. For information about the measures Swedavia has introduced for safe travel, see for example: swedavia.com/lulea/before-your-journey/.
